Case Study – Cooling Tower

Our client was a large data centre with three evaporative cooling towers sized at approx 7.2 x 3.0 x 5.0m.  The existing coatings had started to fail.

Surface preparation was completed to remove all existing coatings and corrosion deposits and provide a surface profile of 75um to accept the new coating.

All joints had a ‘stripe coat’ of DWPU applied, to build up a nominal thickness of 3 – 5mm in these critical areas.  This was followed by a base coat of DWPU applied to all internal surfaces at a nominal thickness of 500 micron.

The above was repeated with a top coat of DWPU.
